26 Credits
The Peace Officer Certificate is designed for students who already have completed either an associate or bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university. Completion of this certificate prepares students to take the 26-credit Peace Officer Advanced Technical Certificate offered at the Peace Officer & Police Science Center at Hennepin Technical College.
After earning this certificate, completing the Peace Officer Advanced Technical Core, and completing a First Responder, Emergency Medical Response or EMT course, students are qualified to take the Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Board licensing examination.

Students who desire to take PSYC 1110 may submit an academic petition to waive the one-credit EXSC course.
Required Courses – 26 Credits
ENGC 1101, SOC 1104, SOC 2110, SOC 2114, SOC 2130, SOC 2131, SOC 2132, and PSYC 1100 or PSYC 1110 are prerequisites for admission to the Peace Officer & Police Science Center, must be completed with a minimum grade of C in each course, and require a minimum combined GPA of 2.5.
