2026-2027 Course Catalog

Effective Catalog Requirements

Students are responsible for the information the catalog contains and are therefore encouraged to reference it often. Procedures, course titles and regulations may change, but decisions regarding individual programs, permanent records and transcripts are based on the year of the student’s initial enrollment. The catalog will be invaluable in the years to come, particularly if a student transfers to another college.

Students may follow the requirements of one catalog only. Students completing program requirements in four or fewer years may follow either the catalog requirements in effect at the time of their initial enrollment or the requirements of any succeeding catalog in effect during their period of enrollment.

Students who take longer than four years to complete program requirements at Normandale may follow any catalog in effect during the four-year period immediately preceding their date of graduation, provided the desired program is still being offered or was declared during the time it was still being offered. Extensions may be granted through an academic petition. Requirements for this catalog take effect Fall 2026.

Declaring a Major or Program

Students are responsible for maintaining an accurate program of study at all times to ensure proper course selection, correct awarding of financial aid, accurate processing of veterans' benefits, and availability of the program at the time of graduation.

Students can declare or change their program of study by submitting the Change of Major eForm, available at www.normandale.edu/forms.

Students may declare and maintain up to four active (pursuing) majors or programs concurrently. Additional programs may be declared at any time during the term, provided the student has fewer than four active programs. Upon completion or award of a program, a student may declare a new program, as long as the total number of active programs does not exceed four.
Requests to change or remove a major are effective at the conclusion of the current academic term. All declared programs will remain active through the end of the term in which the request is submitted.

Students are encouraged to consult with an academic advisor when selecting or changing a program of study.
