Repeated Courses
Students may choose to repeat a class to meet academic requirements, to improve their GPA, or to refresh their knowledge of the subject material. While both the original and the repeated grades will remain on the transcript, only the highest grade will be used to determine the GPA,
With the exception of the following, all instances of a repeated course will count as attempted credits when determining completion rate for satisfactory academic progress, but only one instance of the course can be considered successfully completed: courses numbered below 1000 if attempted Fall 2021 and later; courses with grades of AU (audit); courses such as music and theatre that a student can repeat for additional credit; and Spring 2020 withdrawals completed after the COVID-19 pandemic was declared (such courses are identified on the student's transcript with a "CV" notation).
Students may repeat a course twice; a third repeat attempt requires approval by academic petition.
Students should consult a Student Services coach to determine whether repeated coursework will be eligible for financial aid.
PSEO students cannot repeat courses in which they have already earned a passing grade (A-D), including courses such as music and theatre that are intended to be repeated for credit.
Veterans, servicemembers and dependents who receive education benefits are subject to the repeat polices of the Veterans Administration and/or the US Department of Defense.
