NURS 1000 Role of the Professional Nurse
This course introduces the student to the role of the professional nurse within a culturally competent, equitable, inclusive framework. Professional nursing includes learning about professional identity inclusive of self-care, fundamental concepts of nursing practice, regulatory frameworks, determinants of health, as well as holistic person-centered care practices across the lifespan. Students will learn principles of communication, evidence-based practice, and clinical judgment that guides quality, safe care within the context of the holistic nursing process.
