CHWN 1000 The Community Health Worker: Role, Advocacy, Outreach, and Resources
The course defines the role of the Community Health Worker (CHW). Students will explain strategies for personal safety in relation to home visits. Students will gain an understanding of the value of self-care and personal wellness. Students will become familiar with the health-related needs of their communities and cultural considerations. Students will also learn about their role as a liaison and connecting clients to appropriate community resources.
